Both the 72 and 46 kilometre routes are punctuated by two challenging climbs. The long ride goes towards Bredasdorp and into the Cape Agulhas National Park. The opening stages meander through fynbos flatland with rolling bumps for about 25 kilometres. Some parts might be a little sandy but definitely rideable. The first real challenge comes as you ride up and over the back of Anysberg. The second climb, while not quite as demanding will give you something to think about before you make your way home.
The 30 kilometre ride has a challenge of its own, it does not include the arduous climb up Anysberg. The 10 kilometre ride is easy by most standards and is well suited for a family with young children.
