The longer 70 kilometre route is a challenge and features long stretches of single track bush tunnel. There is a fair amount of climbing with a total accumulated ascent of almost 1,400 metres.

The intermediate 34 kilometre route can be conveniently divided into two distinct halves; first a 21 kilometre climb followed by a fast and furious 14 kilometre finish. There is a 22 kilometre fun ride which is a gentle affair through Lowveld bushveld. There is also a 15 kilometre ride for families.
