No doubt the 80 kilometre route is going to test you; no doubt you are in for a special ride. Within the first five kilometres your heart will be pounding as you climb over 250 metres. It is harsh, enough said. Then comes the plunge to the 10-kilometre marker before a long and brutal climb. This ride is not for sissies. By the time you get to the 20-kilometre marker board you have climbed almost 500 metres.

The 50 kilometre route starts with an initial climb out of Knysna which may prove testing; it is short and sharp, leading onto a route that is pleasantly undulating. The drop at around the 40-kilometre marker is deceptive, sometimes tricky. This leads to an easy downhill stretch to the finish.
