Katot Meyer had a vision, he wanted to link the challenge and fun of mountain biking to the sweep and mysterious awe of history. The Cape Pioneer Trek follows the same route that early trekkers used for crossing into the unknown interior of the Cape. Many stories are told of wagons that broke down, cattle that were lost and mountain leopard that crossed their path. This is sure to become one of the premier stage races in South Africa. Entries will be limited to ensure minimum impact on the environment. The race will be held for the 11th time in 2019.
